The Senator representing Kaduna central in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacetd to the voice note of the President, Muhammadu Buhari, released by the presidency to celebrate Sallah with Nigerians.
Recall that the voice note had sparked several controversy amongst Nigerians especially as the president conveyed his message in Hausa language.
Nigerians including a former Aviation Minister in the country, Femi Fani-Kayode further accused the presidency of foul play noting that the voice was not Buhari’s.
In reaction, Shehu Sani took to his social media page to address the issue stating that there was nothing wrong with the President’s choice of language to convey his message.
He wrote on his Facebook page:
There’s nothing wrong with the President sending Sallah message in Hausa Language.He is on medical vacation.He has transferred power to the Acting President.Its the Acting President that is bound to act ‘officially’ on state matters,including speaking in ‘Our official Language, English’.Understandably, we live in times when everything is sensitive and subject to interrogation and interpretation,this is avoidable.Lets pray for our President and our country and work hard to surmount our challenges rather than harp on the superficial and the mundane.The Presidency should also periodically update the nation on the progress of Mr President health so as to neutralize conjectures,speculations and ripples of rumour.
