Men of the Nigerian Police have reportedly started a massive search for yet another soldier who is suspected to be a part of arrested billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike alias Evans’ gang.
The search launched by the Nigerian police comes after a soldier was arrested as part days ago after being linked with the billionaire kidnap kingpin.
The hunt for the yet to be named soldier who is reported to be a member of one of the Army formations in Lagos is moving rapidly according to sources.
Police sources further revealed that they are armed with the name and photo of the soldier’s name and would ensure that the suspect is quickly arrested.
“He should have been arrested on Saturday night but we believe he might have gone into hiding after his colleague, Victor Chukwunonso, was caught. That was why the police high command did not want to release information on the arrest of Chukwunonso because there are so many others being investigated.
“But I know he would be caught. Our bosses will simply approach army authorities with evidence and request that he be handed over to the police.”
The Nation further reports that the Nigerian Police has also launched a massive search for all those involved in the 2006 robbery incident and those who participated in the 2006 release of Evans and two of his gang members.
A source while speaking on the case which was believed to be facilitated by one Tina, a relative of Evans’ mother said: “It is true that they have started looking for that Tina woman and many other officers who were serving at the Imo State Command at that time that Evans was released. So many heads will roll in this matter.”
