EU donates vehicles, other items worth N249m to Jigawa Govt.8

European Union

The European Union has donated vehicles and other items worth N249 million to Jigawa Government agencies under the State and Local Government Reform (SLOGOR) Project.

The State’s Head of the Civil Service (HoS), Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa, distributed the items to government agencies on Tuesday in Dutse.

He urged the benefiting agencies to make judicious use of the items and abide by the regulations guarding their uses.

Inuwa warned the agencies that government would not tolerate misuse of the vehicles and items.

 

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that nine state government agencies benefited from the EU support programme.

He also appreciated the support and intervention being given to the state by the European Union through the World Bank.

Alhaji Adamu Muhammad, the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning, also commended the EU and the World Bank for the gesture.

Muhammad said the items were part of the tangible output of SLOGOR programme, which would enhance execution of the state government programmes.

 

 

Also commenting on behalf of the benefiting agencies, Alhaji Ado Hussain, the Director-General of Directorate of Due Process and Project Monitoring Bureau, commended the SLOGOR for attracting the assistance to the state.

Hussain assured the state government that the items would be judiciously used.

The items are six 18-seater Toyota buses, two Toyota Hilux, 25 Motorcycles, 40 Laptop computers, 40 Printers, 32 Desktop computers, 32 Photocopier machines and 32 Scanners.

The benefiting agencies are office of the Head of Service, Directorate of Due Process, Ministry of Finance, Board of Internal Revenue,
