The Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, has delivered its judgement in a case involving the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
The tribunal in its ruling this morning delivered by the its chairman, Danladi Umar dismissed the charges of false asset declaration against the Senate President.
Danladi Umar in his judgement noted that the prosecution counsel had failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove that Saraki was indeed guilty of false asset declaration.
The witnesses presented before the tribunal by the Federal government had given contradicting testimonies during the trial which comes after the Senate president on May 4th filed a no-case submission before the tribunal, a move which implies that he is not opening a defence but asking the tribunal to discharge him of the charges because there is no case against him.
