Top reasons why drinking Tea is better than Water

2 Min Read

Tea is an aromatic beverage commonly prepared by pouring hot or boiling water over cured leaves of the Camellia sinensis, an evergreen shrub native to Asia.

After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world. There are many different types of tea; some teas, like Darjeeling and Chinese greens, have a cooling, slightly bitter, and astringent flavour, while others have vastly different profiles that include sweet, nutty, floral or grassy notes.

According to researchers from Konkingsg’s college, London, UK, it shows that if you drink three or more cups of tea a day you might be doing your health more good than drinking plain water.

The study also suggest that tea dehydrates and protects from heart disease and also prevent cancer.

Also, taking two or three cups a day may protect your teeth and strengthen your bones. The researchers also states that flavonoids, polyphenol antioxidants, which are found in abundance in tea may play a major role as flavonoids helps to prevent cell damage.

Dr. Ruxton, one of the researchers, said “Studies on caffeine have found very high doses dehydrate and everyone assumes that caffeine-containing beverages dehydrate. But even if you had a really, really strong cup of tea or coffee, which is quite hard to make, you would still have a net gain of fluid. Also, a cup of tea contains fluoride, which is good for the teeth.
