A Cleric, Pastor David Omorinoye, has predicted that the nation’s economy would witness unprecedented turnaround with the passage and signing of the 2017 budget.
Omorinoye, who is the President of Irepodun Local Government chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Kwara, gave the prophecy during the church special prayer service in Omu-Aran on Thursday.
The cleric advised Nigerians to continue to support the current administration to ensure successful implementation of the new economic recovery initiative.
Omorinoye, who is also a former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the council, said the country, with the on-going war against corruption, was already on the path of economic emancipation and transformation.
He described the current administration’s anti-corruption crusade as “integral part of God’s grand design to transform Nigeria’s economy for the better”.
According him, the anti-corruption crusade, like other similar economic recovery initiatives, would succeed in spite of the stiff opposition and criticisms.
He urged those nursing negative ambitions of reversing the gains of the nation’s anti-corruption fight or planning to unleash mayhem on innocent citizens to have a rethink to avert God’s wrath.
“I have said it repeatedly that the birth of this administration and its anti-corruption war is part of God’s purposeful intervention to better the lot of Nigerians.
“It is a grand design by God to expose the country’s enemies of progress and elevate its status to that of a developed economy.
“No country, no matter how powerful and strong, can thrive with high level of corruption being perpetrated by those saddled with the responsibility of piloting its affairs,” he said.
Omorinoye urged the Federal Government to find lasting solution to the incessant clashes involving natives and herdsmen for the unity and peaceful co-existence among the people.
The cleric urged Nigerians to remain united in their prayers for the nation’s leaders as a way of promoting good governance and the wellbeing of the generality of the citizenry.
He said that President Buhari’s vacation should not an issue to be over flogged or subjected to political debate.
He said that the President Buhari, like any other leader, deserved the prayers of the citizens to succeed. (NAN)
