‘No hiding place for Stella Oduah’ – Femi Falana

2 Min Read

Legal luminary and human rights crusader, Femi Falana (SAN) has said that there is no hiding place for Stella Oduah under the law as several reports and bodies have indicted her for gross corruption and malfeasance.

He stated this whilst speaking to journalists in Lagos during an interview. Falana said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission were also investigating the minister.

Speaking on the Senate’s reversal on its decision to have an open hearing on the allegations against her, he said it was a desparate attempt to shield the minister.

His words: “It is a desperate attempt to shield the Aviation Minister,Ms Stella Oduah from prosecution. But neither the Presidency nor the Senate can exculpate her from the allegations of grave economic and financial crimes which have been leveled against her. More so, that the Bureau of Public Procurement and the House of Representatives Committee have indicted her. Both the ICPC and EFCC are also probing her while the Presidential probe Panel on the matter has submitted its report. There is no hiding place for her.”

Meanwhile the embattled minister was said to have sneaked out of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice-President Namadi Sambo on Wednesday. Her escape was said to have been aided by Secretary to the Federal Government, Anyim Pius Anyim.

The minister is doing her best to avoid public glare fueled by the media in hopes that her corruption scandal will die a natural death as other media stories eclipse the brilliance of the allegations against her.
