The Department of State Service (DSS), on Thursday, arrested and detained the owner of Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Uba.
Although the reason behind his arrest is yet unknown, the businessman in recent times have been implicated in a fraud saga with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. He was accused of embezzling funds from an illegal sale of crude oil saved in his facility.
According to Daily Post, one of Uba’s staff working on a project site in Anambra said the news of the arrest was quietly discussed by his superiors.
“The news is true. Our bosses wore long faces this morning. They have not said anything to us yet”, our source said.
