The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Monday in Kano conducted a special prayer session for speedy recovery and safe return of President Muhammadu Buhari to the country.
The prayer session which was conducted shortly after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association was attended by its members from Kano, Yobe, Katsina, Jigawa and Bauchi states.
The Kano State IPMAN Chairman, Alhaji Bashir Dan-Malam, said that the association had also used the occasion to pray for sustenance of peace and unity in the country.
“We used the occasion after the AGM to offer special prayer for the quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari and his safe return to the country.
“We equally offer prayer for the sustenance of peace in the country as well as for the management of the NNPC in its determined effort to end fuel crisis in the country.
“We also prayed to God to bring an end to the incessant activities of pipeline vandals in the Niger Delta region, “Dan-Malam said.
Also, Dan-Malam said that during the meeting, the association had reviewed the progress so far made by the Federal Government in its determined effort to ensure that it offset all outstanding transport claims for its members.
“We are happy to say that the Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) has started paying our members the outstanding claims and hope that the payment will continue until all our affected members are paid,”he said.
He commended the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Group Managing Director of the NNPC and other stakeholders for their prompt intervention into the issue.
“We are appreciative of the fact that the present administration is ready to listen to our grievances in order to end fuel crisis in the country.
He, however, called on members of the association to continue to support the Federal Government to enable it address the challenges bedevilling the entire oil sector.(NAN)
