Gov Umaru Tanko-Al-makura of Nasarawa State has offered automatic employment to Mrs. Victoria Otene, wife of late Otene Ogbagu, a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Ogbagu, who died in Lafia, last week, after a protracted illness, was attached to the Government House, Lafia.
A statement signed by Ahmed Tukur, Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), indicated that Gov. Al-makura, made the offer when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late officer at Bukan-Sidi, in Lafia.
The statement quoted Al-makura as saying that the employment was to assist Mrs. Otene toward fending for the family that included five children .
The governor was quoted as describing Ogbagu as a “very intelligent officer, who served his country diligently, with utmost commitment and dedication”.
“ It is sad that we lost Ogbagu at this time when we need all hands on deck in the area of security and peace,” it further quoted the governor as saying. (NAN)
