Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi, Niger State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, has urged the media to educate the youths to embrace agriculture.
Abdullahi, who made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Tuesday, said that agriculture has huge potentials for employment and wealth creation.
According to him, the gesture will support massive production and ensure food security in the country.
He explained that the state government had provided modern farming inputs at subsidised rates to farmers across the state.
The commissioner assured that the state government would continue to provide 70 per cent support to farmers in the area of farm implements and inputs.
” We will do all that we can to mobilise our people to venture into all year farming system through the provision of modern farming inputs.
” We are holistically confronting the present economic recession through agriculture, as various crops will be produced for local consumption and export.”(NAN)
