President Muhammadu Buhari, has commended Mrs Chioma Okorocha, the First Lady of Imo, for her efforts in making life easier for widows and the weaker members of the society.
The President made the commendation in a birthday message to the wife of the Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum.
In a statement issued by Malam Garba Shehu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, the president expressed delight with Mrs Okorocha’s humanitarian activities.
He said, “I am particularly happy with the life of service you have led so far.”
He noted that as Chairperson of ‘She Needs A Roof Project,’ the governor’s wife had been transforming and uplifting the quality of life of widows and the less privileged members of society.
“It is heartening to note that Mrs Okorocha has so far delivered more than 200 homes to widows as part of her charitable undertakings.’’
He urged the First Lady to continue in her invaluable support to her husband “as he brings CHANGE to Imo State.’’
Buhari also urged her to “strive to do more for widows and the less privileged members of the society at a time the country is going through painful but unintended consequences of CHANGE.”
Mrs Okorocha celebrated her birthday on Nov. 30. (NAN)
