2 Min Read

Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for November 26th Governorship election in Ondo State has promised to create three more local council development areas from the present Akure South Local Government Area of the state if elected.

Akeredolu also promised to conduct election into the local government areas within six months.

Akeredolu who spoke on Wednesday when he visited the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi in his palace said he would within one year of his government buy cars for all the traditional rulers in the state.

Speaking further, the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of the state said he will take the welfare of the traditional rulers as priority, stressing that the current irregular payment of salary and allowances of workers and the traditional institution in the state will become a thing of the past if he wins.

“Security votes shouldn’t be for the governors alone, by God grace, my government will be allocating funds to the traditional institutions so that our communities can be effectively policed and secured.” Akeredolu said to the admiration of the traditional chiefs and party supporters at the palace.

Akeredolu, a former two term president of the Nigeria Bar Association also pledged to reticulate Owena Multipurpose Dam so that the people of Akure, the state capital could have access to pipe borne water.

Urging Akure people to give him a chance to govern the state, Akeredolu promised that there would be symmetry and equilibrium distribution of wealth and resources under his watch.

The Deji, Oba Aladetoyinbo while responding praised Akeredolu, describing the APC candidate as a man who has track record of meritorious and excellence in public service.

The monarch who regretted the marginalization of Akure indigenes in politics, urged Akeredolu to appoint Akure peoples into good positions. The monarch stressed that Akure was not created to be state capital on the paper.
