US Election Night: Clinton Campaign Team waits with bated breath as Trump stays in the lead

1 Min Read

As the votes continue to come in for the 2016 US presidential election, Clinton supporters all over the country are waiting with bated breaths as so far, the numbers appear to be in Trump’s favour.

Trump has a 0.5 percent lead over Clinton with 304,198 votes (47.7%) to Clinton’s 300,763 votes (47.2%).

The Clinton Campaign Chair, John Podesta, while addressing the crowd of supporters at the Clinton HQ in New York said,

“They’re still counting votes and every vote should count. several states are too close to call, so we’re not gonna have anything more to say tonight”.

On the University of California, Santa Cruz campus, protests are ongoing with students taking to the streets and chanting, “Don’t vote Trump”.

Many have already predicted a massive fallout with what is speculated could take Brexit-like repercussions on the US economic front.
