Gov. Badaru releases N500m for Birninkudu township road

Gov. Muhammed Badaru of Jigawa has said tha he has released N500 million for the payment of the contractor handling the Birninkudu township road project.

Badaru disclosed this when he  addressed party supporters in Birninkudu on Sunday.

He explained that the contract was awarded at the cost of N700 million by immediate past government but the contractor was not mobilised until he assumed office.

The governor said that apart from Birninkudu, similar contracts were awarded in nine local governments by his predecessor.

He said that he had completed 100km out of 500km road projects inherited from immediate past administration.

Badaru said that he had also paid compensation to those whose houses or land were affected by the road.

He disclosed that his government inherited N92 billion worth of projects from his predecessor.

He assured that he would complete all the projects started by the last administration because it was the state’s resources that was injected into the projects

Badaru also informed his supporters that his government had concluded plan to establish Health Care Centres in all 287 wards across the state.

He said that the decision was to take health care facilities to the door step of the people and also to address the problem of maternal mortality.

The governor stated that in last one year and few months, his government had renovated 27 hospital wards in the state.

He noted that he was in the process of recruiting medical Doctors, Nurses and Midwives to provide health services across the state. (NAN)
