Alhaji Mohammad Abdulahi, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Budget and Planning has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of spending a total of N2.1billion on frivolous purchases.
The commissioner disclosed this on Saturday at a round table discussion on the Kaduna state 2017 budget proposal organised by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna state chapter.
Abdullahi noted that the PDP-led administration spent the N2.1billion annually on purchase of sweets, juice and food.
Further during the meeting, Abdullahi revealed that the PDP-led administration spent N500million annually on purchase of newspapers.
The state Commissioner for Budget and Planning however revealed that the All Progressive Congress, APC-led administration under the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has cut down such frivolous spending and instead channeled the money into productive use such as for infrastructural development.
