The world’s tallest sandwich was built in New York City on Saturday, a mustard and salami construction involving 60 pieces of bread.
Irwin Adam, who hails originally from Texas, originally built his sandwich out of 44 pieces of toasted white bread.
The sandwich needed to stand for one minute without toppling in order to break the record.
Adam then also managed to reach the mark of 60 slices, before missing out on his goal of an 80-slice sandwich.
The food used in the record-making attempt was given to people in need in the US city. (dpa/NAN)
