The ex-first lady, Patience Jonathan has finalized plans to drag the EFCC before the African commission of human and people’s right in Gambia.
While the EFCC is still making plans to invite patience Jonathan for questioning the ex-first lady and her legal team decided to seek redress in a court in west Africa, to avoid manipulation.
A new group the rebranded indigenous people of Biafra (TRIBOP) has frowned against this act by the EFCC.
The group released a statement by its spokesman, Chima “Phillip Effiong” Osuji who condemned the act and termed it the undue harassment and campaign of calumny masterminded by the EFCC.
Mrs Jonathan assumed she would not get a fair trail hence the decision to go outside the shores of Nigeria.
According to TRIPOB, the Goodluck Jonathan family have been asked to “remain calm and to trust God”.
The EFCC froze the personal account of Mrs Jonathan as well as four other accounts linked to her.
A balance of $15.6million was in the account and detectives have been able to establish a prima facie case of money laundering and forgery against patience says EFCC.
