The terrorist sect known as Boko Haram have attacked Nigerian troops of Operation Lafiya Dole Task Force Battle Group and Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) killing 2 soldiers in the process.
The attack happened in Borno state, but the Army refused to take the attack sitting down and hit back taking down 15 terrorists on their end.
The battle reportedly lasted for two hours on Thursday at around 6:30am.
The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR) said in a statement; “During the fierce battle, the troops killed 15 of the insurgents, with many escaping with gunshot wounds,” he stated.
He added “two soldiers paid the supreme price in action while four others were wounded in action.
“The gallant troops recovered weapons and ammunitions from the insurgents These includes. Gun truck, one 60mm Mortar tube, seven 60mm Mortar bomb, a General Purpose Machine (GPMG), three damaged AK 47 Rifle, four Bandoliers of Anti-Aircraft rounds of ammunition.”
The DAPR said that the military was stepping up efforts to clean up the area of the Boko Haram threat.
