2 Min Read

The Kwara Government has signed an agreement with Chinese investors for the establishment of Kwara Chetex Park in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

The State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed disclosed this on Thursday in Share, Ifelodun Local Government Area, at the launching of Share Education Endowment Fund.

According to him, a minimum of 3,000 jobs will be created along the Ifelodun, Edu and Patigi local government axis when the textile park becomes operational.

Ahmed said N1 billion had been provided under the administration’s Off Taker Demand Driven Agriculture Scheme for farmers involved in cropping, fish farming and animal husbandry.

He added that under the scheme, farmers would be provided with agricultural inputs approximate to the amount borrowed to ensure efficiency and eliminate diversion.

The governor promised that his administration would continue to ensure even development, adding that no part of the state would be disadvantaged in terms of infrastructure allocation.

Ahmed said people’s partnership with the government was crucial for the success of prosperity-oriented programmes of the government.

He said without the people’s contribution and active involvement, prosperity would not be created.

“Government alone cannot create prosperity without your contribution. Thus, your responsibility, among others, is to partner the government to promote agriculture, the main occupation in our state, for food security, employment and alternative revenue.”

Ahmed advised the people to embrace peace and ensure good neighborliness as it was crucial for prosperity to manifest.

The National President of Share Patriotic Movement, Mr AbdulFatah Jimoh, said the endowment fund was part of strategies to check decay in the education sector being faced by Share youths. (NAN)
