The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Mambilla Plateau, Yola, Ibi, Lafia, Makurdi, Lokoja and Jalingo on Friday morning.
This is contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday.
NiMet said that in the afternoon and evening most places were expected to be cloudy except Ibi, Bauchi, Jos, and Lafia with chances of thunderstorms with day time temperatures of 25 to 31 degree Celsius.
The agency predicted that the Northern states would experience cloudy conditions over the region in the morning.
It said that Dutse, Maiduguri, Gombe, Potiskum, Damaturu, Yelwa, Gusau, Kano and Katsina would witness prospects of thundery activities in the afternoon with day time temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius
According to the prediction, there will be chances of rainfall activities over the country due to availability of moisture in the next 24 hours.
NiMet said Southern States would experience rains over Lagos, Ijebu-ode, Abeokuta, Port- Harcourt, Akure, Ibadan, Enugu, Onitsha, Asaba, Eket, Calabar, Warri, Awka in the morning with day time temperatures of 28 to 30 degree Celsius.
