Kumuyi prays for peace, development in Rivers

2 Min Read

Pastor William Kumuyi, Deeper Life Christian Ministry’s General Superintendent, on Saturday prayed that Rivers will witness peace and development in spite of current security challenges.

Kumuyi made the prayer in Port Harcourt during a courtesy visit on Gov. Nyesom Wike at the Rivers Government House.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kumuyi is in the state for the Deeper Life Christian Ministry Double Portion of Blessing Rally holding in Port Harcourt.

He urged the Governor Wike-led government to pursue its development programmes in the state with vigour and commitment.

“I urge you to show commitment in the development of the state; do not be distracted in your pursuit of development; the church will continue to back you with prayers.

“I am in Rivers to seek divine solutions to human problems; this state will overcome her challenges to be a leading light in the country.

“The challenges we face are temporary, God will use us to bring a time of peace and security to the state.

“The future is bright for Nigeria and Rivers state; the current challenges will surely pass away,’’ he said.

Responding, Wike described Kumuyi’s visit as a spiritual blessing to the state.

“ This visit will lead the state towards attaining further grace for rapid development.

“Our government is anchored on God who has protected us from all ungodly attempts to pull us down since we were sworn in.

“Your coming to Rivers State will mark the end of our challenges; I know that God will do his work for this state,’’ he said.
