NiMet predicts thundery, cloudy, rainy weather

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted isolated thunderstorms over Jalingo, Bauchi, Mambila, Abuja and Lafia axis on Friday morning.

This was contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday.

NiMet predicted localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Jos, Bauchi, Minna, Kaduna and Taraba in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 26 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius.

It stated that the Northern states would experience cloudy condition over Sokoto and Gusau axis with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Kano, Dutse, Maiduguri and Damaturu in the morning.

The agency further predicted chances of thunderstorms over the entire region in the afternoon and evening with day time temperatures of 29 degree Celsius to 33 degrees Celsius.

According to the prediction, there will be chances of rainfall within the country in the next 24 hours.

It stated that there would be cloudy condition over the entire inland cities with chances of localised rains over Ikom, Ogoja, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Umuahia and Obudu in the morning.

NiMet predicted that there would also be chances of rainfall activities over the entire southern cities in the afternoon and evening hours.

It stated that day time temperatures of 28 degree Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius would be experienced in the southern cities.
