The world’s fastest Man Usain Bolt has done it again– he won his third straight Gold medal in 200m yesterday.
He finished the individual race in 19.78 seconds, .59 short of his own world record, which he said he really wanted to break. He came ahead of Canada’s Andre de Grasse and France’s Christophe Lemaitre.
Speaking to the BBC, the Gold medal winner said, “The fact I came here and executed what I wanted to is a brilliant feeling,”
“I wasn’t happy with the time when I crossed the line but I’m excited I got the gold medal – that’s the key thing.”
Bolt added, “What else can I do to prove I am the greatest? I’m trying to be one of the greatest, to be among Ali and Pele.
“I have made the sport exciting, I have made people want to see the sport. I have put the sport on a different level.”
He might have been disappointed not to break another world record but there is no doubting that Usain Bolt is the fastest man alive with many even comparing him to the DC comics character Flash who also claims he’s the fastest man alive.
The 29-year-old says he’ll retire next year, so this will probably be his last Olympics.
