Dear Mimi,
We are both professional people and work in a bank. We married five years ago and are yet to have any children. This is not an issue because we are believing God for children. Since before we got married my wife has taken out her anger on me by slapping me, biting me, and has poured hot water on my legs before. The first time this happened, she apologized profusely and said she lost her temper and will never do this again. She has not stopped and any small provocation she hits my mouth, my face anytime. Recently she has started slapping me in public. If we are in the car, she slaps me if she thinks I am not driving well. I threatened to report her to our pastor and her family and she has told me to go ahead and report. That people will laugh at me and because of that I have endured, but its getting too much. What should I do?
-Beaten and Ashamed
Dear Beaten and Ashamed,
I am so sorry this is happening. You must report to the police, her family and anyone before she kills you. There is no shame in it. There are men who are victims of domestic violence who suffer in silence. Please report and leave. There is no excuse for anyone to hit another person. I wish you strength and courage.
Love,
Mimi
