#Justice4Uzoamaka: LG Boss, Other Perpetrators Arrested

2 Min Read

There seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel for the #Justice4Uzoamaka saga as the perpetrators of the wicked act have been arrested by the Ebonyi state Police.

The 15-year-old orphan was dehumanized in the worst way when she was stripped and beaten in front of other men and the entire thing was filmed and put on social media.

The pretext was that it was punishment for the girl for sleeping around and the man meting out the punishment was said to be her father.

This was not the case as the perpetrator was actually the Coordinator of Ohaozara Development Centre, Ogbonnaya Ene Odi who also got 2 police officers to participate in the act.

They have finally been arrested. The arrest was revealed by Hon. Linus Abaa Okorie, a member of the House of Representatives representing Onicha, Ohaozara and Ivo Federal Constituency who has taken an interest in the #Justice4Uzoamaka case.

According to Pulse, A police source in the state command confirmed the arrest of Odi, and added that the Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi is not taking the matter with levity and has vowed to bring the culprits to book if they are found guilty after investigations.

“He (Odi) has been arrested. The Governor told the CP to make sure all those involved are arrested and brought to book. The police officers involved have also been arrested.”
“The police has since commenced investigation in the matter but we are still waiting for the victim, Ukamaka, to come and identify the suspects at the command today; that is stalling the investigation a little bit.
“By tomorrow we are expecting her back to the state from Abuja.”
