Abubakar Shekau has denied the ceasefire agreement with the Presidential committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North. The terrorist sect’s leader has even denied any knowledge of the members of the committee.
He made the statements in a video obtained by AFP. Shekau said, “The claim that we have entered into a truce with the government of Nigeria is not true,” adding, “We don’t know Kabiru Turaki; we have never spoken with him. He is lying”.
Not admitting involvement but rather support of the Yobe school attack, Shekau said, “We fully support the attack on this Western education school in Mamudo.” Mamudo is a town near Potiskum in Yobe state.
His statement discredits the Presidential committee’s claims that they had negotiated a ceasefire agreement with the authentic Boko Haram and were close to signing an agreement to the effect.
