2 Min Read

Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara has directed contractors handling various projects in the State to return to sites immediately.

Ahmed gave the directive in Ilorin on Tuesday at the monthly Stakeholders Meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said energy, water, roads, health and education projects would be completed as the state’s revenue improved.

He said government placed high premium on quality infrastructure, promising not to relent in facilitating the economic growth of the State.

Ahmed said N5 million had been earmarked for special infrastructure intervention in each of the 193 wards in the state.

He promised to begin another round of youth and women empowerment programmes next week to stimulate the state’s economy.

Ahmed said his government had disbursed N160million to local government councils to pay July salaries of local government workers and basic education teachers.

He assured that worst times were over with improved internally generated revenue and federal allocations, promising to make the state more conducive for all residents.

Chairman of APC in the state, Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani, said the monthly interactive forum was to intimate their members about developments at the state and national levels.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the meeting was attended by members of the State Executive Council, Local Government Chairmen and APC leaders.

Others were elders, representatives of APC in the 193 wards, and youths and women associations in the state. (NAN)
