The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja and presided over by Justice Nnamdi Dimgba has decided on the validity of EFCC’s move to seize some assets belonging to the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

The court yesterday decided that the temporary order of attachment granted to the EFCC which enabled it clamp down on the properties did not violate Section 308 of the constitution.

In light of the ruling, the Judge explained that the Immunity clause granted to some public office holders does not shield them from being investigated by security agencies as such investigations could be used for future purpose.

The presiding Judge, Dimgba thereafter threw out the application by the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose submitted through his legal counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) which had dought to vacate the order of interim attachment granted by the court on
July 20 to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
