2016 Korean-Pop Dance Competition: Antigravity Forces emerge winner

An Abuja-based dance group, “Antigravity Forces” have emerged the overall winner of the adult category of the Korean-Pop Dance Competition organised by the Korean Cultural Centre in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 2016 K-Pop Dance Competition which held at the weekend drew more than 184 participants.

The participants included 34 teams which cuts across Adamawa, Rivers, Lagos, Taraba, Kaduna, Katsina, Cross River, Bayelsa and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Supreme Task (STK) Dance Group emerged second, while Furious Troupe and Thrillaz Dance Crew both won third position.

Mr Non Kyu-duk, the South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, said the winner could apply to participate in the 2016 World K-Pop Festival holding in Changwon City, Korea in September.

Kyu-duk said that the first prize attracts N200,000 and a set of Bluetooth speaker for each member of the team.

The second position would get N80, 000 and a set of Bluetooth speaker to each team member the two teams with third position would be given a set of Bluetooth speakers each and N40,000.

Similarly, K-Popians Boys emerged first position in the students’ category of the completion, followed by Ngis K-Popians jnr, while K-stars and Amity Kids Concept took the third position.

The prizes to be won in the junior category include: N100, 000 and bag packs for the first position.

The second position would get N50, 000 and bag packs, while the third position would receive N20,000 and bag packs as well.

NAN reports that the K-Pop Dance Competition, being the fifth edition is an annual event organised by the Korean Cultural Centre.

The overall winner of the competition will represent the country at the World K-Pop Festival in South Korean later in the year.
