The Nigerian Police has confirmed the death of one Lebanese Mathematics teacher at the prestigious Nagarta College, Sokoto identified as Mr Moin Amsuri.
According to the state Police Force, the Lebanese national was suspected to have been killed by gunmen who are yet to be identified.
The murder which was reported on Thursday occurred the same day at the deceased’s residence in Yauri flats, Sokoto.
The Sokoto Police Spokesman, Mr El-Mustapha Sani while speaking on the case said: ”We are suspecting that the assailants were armed robbers as his Toyota car is still missing.”
The State Police Command spokesman further promised that the Police will do all within its power to bring the perpetrators of the evil act to justice.
The deceased was laid to rest in Sokoto on Friday according to Islamic rites. The burial ceremony had in attendance the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bashir Garba, and Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, among other dignitaries.
