The President, Muhammadu Buhari has sacked all five heads of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Health.
The affected persons include; the Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Mohammed Ado, the Acting-Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Femi Akingbade, the Director-General of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Professor Karniyus Gamanie, the Acting Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Yetunde Oni and the Director-General of the National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Professor Innocent Ujah.
According to Daily Sun, a reliable source within the ministry confirmed the latest development which took effect yesterday.
The news source also reported that a senior staff of the ministry revealed that the layoffs was part of a ‘routine system clean up’.
