AfDB pumped $2bn On ICT, Transport In 2015- AfDB Official

Amadou Oumarou, who holds the position of Director for Transport and ICT Infrastructure, African Development Bank (AfDB Group) declared that the development initiative contributed $2 billion in investments to ICT and transport in 2015.

The implications of this was contained in AfDB’s 2015 Annual Report on Transport and Information and communications technology (ICT).

Oumarou gave out some of the consequences of the investment and how it would affect positively the mobility of at least 1.2 million users of public transport. He also said that the investment was aimed to create jobs in the ICT sector with an estimated 200,000 jobs set to be created due to this. It is believed that an estimated 18 million people would benefit from improvements in road infrastructure.

“The expected impacts over the next few years in integrating Africa, boosting agriculture, and facilitating industrialization will be tremendous,” Oumarou enthused.
