Following the recent surge of deaths of Nigerians in diaspora, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an investigation into the recent killings.
The senior special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and diaspora, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa revealed that the presidency is already looking into the issue.
In an interview with Channels TV, Abike disclosed that the president will not condone the killings of Nigerians anywhere in the world.
“This (killing of Nigerians abroad) will not be tolerated by this administration,” she said.
She also reiterated the president’s commitment to citizen’s diplomacy and protection of Nigerians wherever they may be.
This is coming following recent killings which include that of a Nigerian asylum seeker who was attacked and beaten to death by a racist football fan in Italy.
