Otunba Gani Adams, the National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, has described the recent actions of suspected militants in the coastal parts of Lagos and Ogun state which has resulted in loss of lives and properties, as unfortunate.
He further noted that the OPC, although capable of confronting the suspected militants, will not do so.
Adams, while speaking in Lagos, noted that the South West is confronted with a lot of threats, added: “We are still talking about the menace of herdsmen and some hoodlums masquerading as kidnappers or militants started to kill our people to the extent that the Ogun State Deputy Governor came to the area and they chased away his security detail and the police could not do anything.
“The law enforcement agents should tell the whole world how many of the criminals that they have arrested after more than 50 people have been massacred.”
Noting that the group has what it takes to repel the militants, Adams called on leaders of the South West to support the OPC group in order for it to fight for the region’s interest.
