The Power crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is set to be brought to an end as indications of peace talk between the factional National Chairman of the party, Ali Modu sheriff and the chairman of the caretaker committee, Ahmed Makarfi has emerged.
According to news agency, Vanguard, both parties involved in the struggle may be ready to set aside their differences in order to move the party forward especially as the Edo governorship polls is fast approaching.
Disclosing the commencement of the peace talk between both warring parties, the immediate past national vice chairman of the PDP for South-South, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh during a press briefing disclosed that the Sheriff faction has laid down the conditions for truce and has made it known to the Makarfi faction of the party.
He noted that the negotiation was being done through an ‘intermediary’ although he did not reveal the identities of those involved nor the conditions laid down.
Ojougboh further noted that Sheriff’s insistence to be the National Charmian of the party was to prove a point and to bring an end to the reign of impunity within the party.
