The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC’s arrest of Senator Iyiola Omisore, an Osun state politician.
The EFCC arrested Omisore yesterday at his house in Abuja after securing a court warrant to the effect.
Speaking yesterday with regards to the arrest, the PDP through its Osun state spokesman, Diran Odeyemi, accused the anti-graft agency of being bias.
In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Sunday evening, Diran Odeyemi said: “There’s a court injunction by Senator Omisore against the EFCC not to be arrested.
“We’re never been aware that judgment has been vacated especially on Sunday. It’s very unfortunate that the EFCC is carrying out its assignment in a way that suggests its persecuting the opposition.”
The Osun state PDP spokesperson further added that the party will stand and represent its own against the anti-graft agency. He said: “Today is Sunday, by tomorrow, everything would be clearer and we’ll have to go to court to enforce his fundamental human right.”
