The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC yesterday arrested a former Senator and former deputy governor of Osun state, Sen. Iyiola Omisore.
Recall that the anti-graft agency had earlier in March declared him wanted over his alleged role in the diverted arms scandal in connection with the embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The EFCC has however revealed the reason behind the Osun state politician’s latest arrest by its operatives.
The EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren while speaking to online news source, PREMIUM TIMES revealed that Omisore was arrested as part of its continued investigation into the N700 million naira he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser, between June and November, 2014.
The anti-graft agency further revealed that it secured a court warrant effecting Omisore’s arrest.
