A search for properties acquired by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state since his emergence as governor in 2014 has been launched by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCCC).
The anit-graft agency reportedly quizzed two of the governor’s friends about the properties.
They included one Abbey, who was said to have been brought to Abuja from Lagos on Friday.
It was also gathered that amongst those who provided inside information to the anti-graft agency is a former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Dr. Tope Aluko.
A source in the EFCC said, “We are closing in on the governor. Immunity does not stop us from investigating any sitting governor or president. And we have no apology to offer for doing our duty.”
Recall that the EFCC had recently frozen Ayodele Fayose’s account over “suspicious transfer of funds”.
