Sokoto State Government said on Thursday that it had spent N200 million on the purchase of 2015/2016 University Tertiary Matriculation Examination/Joint Admissions Matriculation Board forms for its students.
Alhaji Sahabi Gada, Commissioner for Higher Education, disclosed this to newsmen in Sokoto.
Gada said the gesture would encourage the beneficiaries to further their education in the state .
“We will continue to provide platforms to mobilize our children to excel as future leaders of the nation.
“The state government will continue to accord priority attention to the development of the educational sector.”
Gada called on the benefiting students to reciprocate the efforts by dedicating themselves to their studies.
He also called on parents to assist in monitoring their children, saying, “the state government will provide basic needs for the students.
“This will be done through the provision of basic learning materials in public schools and other infrastructure.” ( NAN )
