One of Nigeria’s greatest literary minds, Capt. Elechi Amadi, has died at the age of 82.
Amadi credited with works such as The Concubine, Isiburu, Sunset in Biafra, and Peppersoup and The Road to Ibadan died at about 3:15pm on Wednesday.
His death occurred about a week after he became ill.
According to reports, the Rivers State Government was concluding plans to fly the literary mind out of the country for proper medical care before he died.
He was born May 12, 1934 and his remains has since been moved to the Ashes-to-Ashes mortuary in Port Harcourt.
