Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Wednesday urged NYSC members posted to the state to adopt it as their second home.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Moses Alake-Adeyemo, made the call during the closing ceremony of the orientation programme for the Batch “A” Stream Two corps members.
The event took place at the NYSC permanent orientation Camp at Gbakuta, Iseyin.
“It is very important for you all to see and adopt the state as your second home, it is only then that you will serve diligently and sincerely.
“On our part, we shall not relent on our efforts to ensure that you are safe anywhere you are posted and also ensure that you are relatively comfortable.
“I want to appeal to you to observe all rules and regulations as given to you by your supervisors, especially as regards your movements, “he said.
Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Mrs Funmilayo Akin-Moses, had disclosed that 2,176 corps members, comprising 1,112 males and 1,054 females, took part in the three-week orientation course.
While advising the corps members to serve diligently at their places of primary assignment, Akin-Moses said she pay visits to the corps members at their duty posts.
