A Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday, June 28, deferred ruling on the mandatory restriction order placed on the personal bank accounts of Governor Ayodele Fayose by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The governor’s personal accounts in the Zenith Bank, Ekiti branch, were allegedly frozen on the order of the anti-graft agency last week.
The accounts were frozen over allegations that funds meant for the purchase of arms was paid into the accounts by the office of former national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Sequel to the action by the EFCC, Fayose through his lawyer , Mr Mike Ozekhome (SAN), had through an ex parte order sought a mandatory order unfreezing the accounts belonging and operated by him pending the determination of his interlocutory application.
However, the court has deferred ruling on this.
Joined in the suit are the EFCC (1st defendant) and Zenith bank (2nd defendant).
