What Nigeria Needs – Osinbajo To Kumuyi

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President has disclosed what the nation needs while speaking to a delegation from the Deeper Christian Life Church led by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi.

The vice president while receiving the delegation at the Presidential villa disclosed that Nigeria as a nation needs an honest and straightfoward man like President Muhammadu Buhari.

The vice president in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande said the president will not be found cutting deals. He added that Buhari is genuinely concerned with moving the nation forward.

“We are very happy that we have a President who is honest, a President who is straight forward, a President who is operating from the genuineness of his heart, this is the kind of leader that we need now.”

Speaking on the current economic condition facing the country, Yemi Osinbajo said: “The reason (we are here at this time,) is known to the Lord Himself. Everyday I wake up knowing there is a cause for being here and it is to move the country forward.”

The Vice President also revealed that the Ogoni cleanup program was very important priority to the government. he added: “The situation is very bad, I have been in
the area a few times, but we need peace in the area to be able to carry on with the clean-up exercise.”

While speaking on electricity and the current blackouts experienced in the country, the vice president explained to Pastor Kumuyi that the country was earlier in the year producing as much as 5000MW of electricity which he regarded as a record for the country. He further explained that the continuous militant attacks on oil installations has crippled the power sector.
