The crisis within opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party has taken a whole new dimension following the seven days ultimatum issued by the self appointed leader of a coalition of youths within the political party.
The self proclaimed leader of the party’s coalition of youths, the Concerned Peoples Democratic Party Youths (CPDPY), Aderemi Olusegun declared himself the party’s National Chairman.
Following the earlier one week ultimatum issued by Olusegun on behalf of the party’s youths as he noted that the party as a whole is bigger than indiviaual or group’s interest, Olusegun stormed the PDP secretariat in Abuja and took over the building.
Defending his stance, Olusegun warned rival parties in the power tussle, Ali Modu- Sheriff and the chairman of the caretaker committee, Ahmed Makarfi against coming close to the party’s secretariat.
The PDP national secretary and national auditor, Professor Wale Oladipo and Adewole Adeyanju, respectively, who were members of the National Working Committee (NWC) that was sacked recently in Port Harcourt escaped being lynched by the angry youths narrowly.
