1 Min Read
VP Yemi Osinbajo

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has admitted that the current state of the economy is bad, but Nigerians need to bear with the government.

According to him, the current economic hardship in the country is not meant to punish Nigerians.

This was stated at a Public Lecture/Presentation of Award tagged; “Service Above Self” organised by the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN), in Abuja.

Represented by Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the senior special assistant on Political Matters to the president, Osinbajo lauded some Muslim faithfuls, who have been speaking against acts of violence perpetrated against Christians by some extremists.

“Yes! Things are very hard in the country. Our government meant very well for Nigerians, this is not to punish people. It is because things have gone bad in the past,” he said.

Meanwhile, Professor Yemi Osinbajo also presided over the 68th National Executive Council meeting as the acting president on Thursday, June 16, following President Buhari’s absence.
