The state minister for petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu yesterday visited the Maritime University and also Kurutie and Okerenkoko Communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State which also happens to be the home to ex-militant Tompolo.
The minister was there to see the state of affairs of the university as he felt that a first-hand view would give him a better feel of things.
The minister while satisfied with the existing structure on ground as regards the university was saddened by the lack of development in the kingdom and stated that with the presence of the Maritime University, things should indeed get better.
He restated the commitment of the federal government to hold talks with the Niger Delta Avengers and he was dismayed by news that they had allegedly gone against the ceasefire and bombed the NNPC pipeline at Oruk Anam Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State.
Kachikwu said it was only fair for both sides (Federal government and Niger delta Avengers) to play nice and uphold their promises.
