Anambra Govt. to build medical oxygen production plant

2 Min Read

The Anambra Government says it will build an oxygen production plant in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Mr Tony Nnacheta, made this known to newsmen at the maiden post EXCO briefing in Awka on Thursday.

Nnacheta explained that the idea was to produce medical oxygen in large quantity and quality in the state.

He said that the plant, when established, would produce 215 cylinders of medical oxygen per day.

According to him, plans have been concluded to construct shopping malls at Awka and Nnewi to promote commerce in the state.

Nnacheta said that the contractor handling projects at the Agulu Lake Hotel had been directed to return to site in order to deliver the project before the end of the year.

Besides, the commissioner said that the state government would initiate a N20 million project in each community in the state before the end of the year to boots rural development.

He called on the communities to avail themselves of the opportunity offered to reduce the cost of obtaining Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).

Nnacheta said the state government had guaranteed that CoOs would be released to the owners within seven days in the next three months.

“This is to encourage Anambra business men across the country to bring their investment portfolios down to the state,’’ he said. (NAN)
