The House Of Representatives has summoned the Minister for Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola and other heads of agencies directly involved in the power sector to a public hearing over the continuous epileptic power supply experienced in the nation.
The directive was passed down following a motion considered during the plenary in which the house considered the state of electricity supply in the country over its period of privatisation.
The lawmakers also noted that the continued epileptic power supply in the country has increased the load of suffering on the citizens and has depleted the nation’s economic base.
The public hearing however is aimed at finding a lasting solution to the challenges faced by the Power sector in the country.
