The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted localised thunderstorms over the central states of Lafia, Makurdi and Mambilla Plateau on Wednesday morning.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Tuesday in Abuja.
It also predicted that there would be wider spread of rainfall activities later in the afternoon and evening period with daytime temperatures of 27 to 30 degrees Celsius.
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience morning rainfall over Obudu, Ikom and Ogoja axis with prospects of evening localised thunderstorms with cloudy situations over Lagos, Ijebu-Ode and Ibadan.
It added that the region would have maximum daytime temperatures of 29 to 32 degrees Celsius during the forecast period.
NiMet also predicted that northern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy conditions with build-up of rain clouds during the early afternoon.
It added that there would be localised thunderstorms over Zaria, Kano, Yelwa, Gusau and Sokoto axis in the evening and daytime temperatures of 30 to 38 degrees Celsius.
According to the prediction, some level of stability is expected over the country within the next 24 hours with prospects of isolated rainfall activities. (NAN)
